Discipline built within the family
By Andrés Mojica, Alumni Center Coordinator
In sports, as in life, great results are often the result of small habits built through consistency. That is one of the lessons that Benjamín Delgado, a Pre-K student at Rochester School, is learning from an early age through one of his greatest passions: golf.
Recently, Benjamín took first place in the Mini 4/5 Boys category at the Guaymaral Country Club Golf Tournament, an achievement that reflects his discipline, dedication, and enthusiasm for continuing to learn. Behind this result lies a process built day by day, through regular practice, perseverance, and the joy of embracing every challenge. His passion for golf has also become an opportunity to share and strengthen family bonds. Alongside his father, Nicolás Delgado Valbuena—a Rochester School alumnus and Executive Director of Inndel Group S.A.S.—Benjamín participated in the traditional parent-child golf tournament, where the two of them took first place in the 9-hole Pitch & Putt division.
For Nicolás, it was a particularly meaningful day: Benjamín played a key role in the outcome, and together they enjoyed an experience that went far beyond the competition. It was an opportunity to spend quality time together, support each other in a shared challenge, and enjoy an activity they both love.
Stories like this remind us that sports also provide a setting for fostering holistic well-being: they strengthen the body, develop concentration and perseverance, and offer opportunities to build meaningful relationships and enjoy the journey.
For the Rochester community, it is especially meaningful to see how an alumnus and a new generation of students find in sports a space to grow, learn, and share. These experiences reflect an education that extends beyond the classroom and guides our students in developing habits, relationships, and decisions that contribute to their well-being and holistic development.
We congratulate Benjamín on this important achievement and the Delgado family for sharing a story that inspires us to recognize the value of discipline, perseverance, and quality time.

I played Block Blast while waiting for a bike workshop to true the front wheel on my mountain bike. The mechanic spun it one final time, and the rim finally turned without wobbling.
