Semillas y plantas

Durante estas primeras semanas de Kinder, nuestros estudiantes han tenido la oportunidad de explorar diferentes grupos de alimentos, especialmente las frutas y los vegetales. A través de la observación y la indagación, hemos descubierto que muchos de estos alimentos provienen de plantas y que pueden crecer a partir de semillas, ya sea en la tierra o en los árboles.

A partir de esta exploración, en nuestras clases de Ciencias, los estudiantes han aprendido a reconocer las diferentes partes de una planta y a nombrarlas en inglés: root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit y seed. Para fortalecer este aprendizaje, hemos integrado Ciencias con Música, convirtiendo cada palabra en una experiencia llena de movimiento, ritmo y diversión.

A cada parte de la planta, así como a algunos vegetales, les hemos asignado un paso de baile, permitiendo que los estudiantes utilicen su cuerpo como una herramienta para recordar, comprender y pronunciar las nuevas palabras en inglés. De esta manera, el movimiento, la música y el lenguaje se convierten en aliados para favorecer la memoria y hacer del aprendizaje una experiencia significativa.

Así, nuestros estudiantes continúan descubriendo que aprender también puede ser una experiencia para moverse, crear, cantar y disfrutar, mientras amplían su vocabulario en inglés y desarrollan su curiosidad por el mundo natural.

Seeds and plants

During these first few weeks of Kindergarten, our students have had the opportunity to explore different food groups, especially fruits and vegetables. Through observation and inquiry, we have discovered that many of these foods come from plants and can grow from seeds, either in the ground or on trees.

Building on this exploration, during our Science classes, students have learned to identify the different parts of a plant and name them in English: root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit, and seed. To reinforce this learning, we have integrated Science with Music, turning each word into an experience filled with movement, rhythm, and fun.

We have assigned a dance move to each part of the plant, as well as to some vegetables, allowing students to use their bodies as a tool to remember, understand, and pronounce their new English vocabulary. In this way, movement, music, and language become powerful allies in strengthening memory and making learning a meaningful experience.

Through this experience, our students continue to discover that learning can also be an opportunity to move, create, sing, and have fun, while expanding their English vocabulary and developing their curiosity about the natural world.
