Construyendo una cultura del cuidado desde el inicio del año escolar

Durante estas primeras semanas del año escolar, el Centro de Bienestar ha desarrollado diferentes talleres con estudiantes de todos los niveles, reafirmando nuestro compromiso de promover el cuidado de sí mismos, de los demás y de nuestra comunidad. Con los estudiantes de 5° a 11° grado se generaron espacios de encuentro y aprendizaje orientados a conocer al equipo del Centro de Bienestar y comprender cómo cada uno de sus integrantes está disponible para brindar apoyo y acompañamiento en los desafíos que puedan surgir a lo largo de la vida escolar. Asimismo, los estudiantes fortalecieron su conocimiento sobre las rutas de atención institucionales frente a situaciones de presunta violencia intrafamiliar, presunta ideación suicida, presunto consumo de sustancias psicoactivas, presunto abuso sexual y presunta intimidación escolar. A través del análisis de casos y la reflexión sobre posibles dilemas, identificaron estrategias para actuar de manera responsable, reconocer señales de riesgo, saber a quién acudir y buscar apoyo oportunamente para proteger su bienestar y el de sus compañeros.

Por su parte, los estudiantes de Preescolar, Transición y primero participaron en el taller “El tesoro más preciado”, una experiencia diseñada para fortalecer la confianza en sí mismos y el reconocimiento de su propio valor. Mediante actividades significativas, aprendieron que su corazón es como un diamante valioso que merece cuidado, protección y respeto, al mismo tiempo que desarrollaban herramientas para relacionarse positivamente con los demás. Los estudiantes de Transición también tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer el Lugar de Conexión, un espacio de apoyo y acompañamiento creado para ayudarlos a gestionar sus emociones y necesidades de manera segura. Allí aprendieron cuándo y cómo pueden utilizar este recurso y tuvieron la oportunidad de familiarizarse con las personas que los acompañarán en este proceso. Adicionalmente, en Prejardín se ha dado inicio al taller “Semáforo del Toque”, en el que los niños comienzan a reconocer límites corporales básicos, diferenciar situaciones que requieren detenerse o buscar ayuda e identificar adultos seguros a quienes pueden acudir cuando necesiten apoyo.

Building a Culture of Care from the Start of the School Year

During these first weeks of the school year, the Wellness Center has conducted a variety of workshops with students across all grade levels, reaffirming our commitment to promoting care for oneself, for others, and for our community. With students from Grades 6 through 12, we created opportunities for learning and reflection focused on getting to know the Wellness Center team and understanding how each member is available to provide support and guidance through the challenges that may arise throughout school life. Students also strengthened their understanding of the school's support and response protocols for situations involving suspected domestic violence, suicidal ideation, substance use, sexual abuse, and bullying. Through case analysis and discussions of potential dilemmas, they identified strategies for acting responsibly, recognizing warning signs, knowing whom to approach for help, and seeking support in a timely manner to protect their own well-being and that of their peers.

Meanwhile, Preschool and Kindergarten students participated in the workshop “The Most Precious Treasure,” an experience designed to strengthen self-confidence and help them recognize their own value. Through meaningful activities, they learned that their hearts are like precious diamonds that deserve care, protection, and respect, while also developing skills to build positive relationships with others. Kindergarten students also had the opportunity to learn about the Connecting Place, a supportive space created to help them manage their emotions and needs in a safe and caring environment. There, they learned when and how they can use this resource and became familiar with the adults who will accompany them throughout the process. In addition, Pre-Kindergarten students have begun participating in the “Touch Traffic Light” workshop, where they are learning to recognize basic body boundaries, distinguish situations in which they should stop or seek help, and identify trusted adults they can turn to when they need support.
