Aprendiendo a Leer los Datos desde la Primera Infancia

Durante el segundo bimestre, en Matemáticas, los niños de Transición trabajaron dentro del marco de EMS (English, Math and Science) en la unidad Handling Data. A lo largo de esta unidad, aprendieron a recolectar, organizar y representar información mediante pictogramas, utilizando temas de su interés como elementos de la naturaleza y animales, fortaleciendo así su vocabulario en inglés, así como aspectos de su vida cotidiana como su comida favorita y las actividades que más disfrutan.

Esta unidad despertó gran motivación y entusiasmo en los estudiantes, ya que les permitió integrar de manera significativa el lenguaje, las matemáticas y la exploración del entorno. Como cierre del proceso, realizaron una presentación de sus aprendizajes en la que elaboraron y analizaron un pictograma relacionado con la naturaleza, demostrando su comprensión del manejo de datos y su capacidad para comunicar lo aprendido.

Learning to Read Data from an Early Age

During the second term, first grade students worked in Mathematics within the EMS (English, Math and Science) framework on the Handling Data unit. Throughout this unit, they learned how to collect, organize, and represent information using pictograms, exploring topics of interest such as elements of nature and animals. This process also strengthened their English vocabulary, as well as their understanding of everyday aspects like favorite foods and activities they enjoy.

This unit generated high levels of motivation and enthusiasm, as it allowed students to meaningfully integrate language, mathematics, and environmental exploration. As a culminating activity, students presented their learning by creating and analyzing a pictogram related to nature, demonstrating their understanding of data handling and their ability to clearly communicate what they learned.
