Construyendo Arte y Comunidad

Las estudiantes de grado Sexto se preparan para la presentación de la Novena de Escuela Media, que tendrá lugar el próximo miércoles 26 de noviembre, un espacio tradicional del Colegio Rochester que une a la comunidad en torno al nacimiento de Jesús, el inicio de la Navidad y el valor de la unidad.

Este año, las niñas han desarrollado un proceso creativo enriquecedor, integrando nuevos lenguajes de movimiento y fortaleciendo su comprensión del trabajo en equipo. Su exploración se ha centrado en reconocer nuevas perspectivas de la danza jazz, incorporando elementos del afro jazz, lo que les ha permitido ampliar su repertorio expresivo y conectar la danza con su propio aprendizaje cultural y curricular.

Además, esta experiencia se enlaza de manera significativa con las tradiciones del colegio, donde las novenas no solo son un acto simbólico, sino un momento para celebrar juntos la comunidad, el encuentro y la identidad como institución. Las estudiantes han logrado integrar la esencia de estas tradiciones con su propuesta artística, ofreciendo una puesta en escena que honra el pasado mientras incorpora nuevas expresiones contemporáneas.

Como comunidad, celebramos el compromiso, la alegría y el talento de este hermoso grupo de niñas, quienes han trabajado con dedicación para compartir un mensaje lleno de luz, unión y celebración.

Invitamos a toda la comunidad Rochester a acompañarnos en esta novena especial, un espacio para conectarnos, agradecer y dar la bienvenida a la Navidad a través del arte, la danza y la tradición. Será un encuentro para celebrar juntos la vida, la esperanza y la unidad.

The seventh-grade students are preparing for the Middle School Novena performance, which will take place on Wednesday, November 26—a traditional event at Colegio Rochester that brings the community together around the birth of Jesus, the beginning of Christmas, and the value of unity.

This year, the girls have engaged in an enriching creative process, integrating new movement languages and strengthening their understanding of teamwork. Their exploration has focused on recognizing new perspectives within jazz dance, incorporating elements of afro jazz, which has allowed them to expand their expressive repertoire and connect dance with their cultural and curricular learning.

Additionally, this experience is closely connected to the school’s traditions, where the novenas are more than symbolic acts—they are meaningful moments to celebrate community, togetherness, and our identity as a school. The students have successfully integrated the essence of these traditions into their artistic proposal, offering a performance that honors the past while embracing contemporary expression.

As a community, we celebrate the commitment, joy, and talent of this wonderful group of girls, who have worked with dedication to share a message full of light, unity, and celebration.

We invite the entire Rochester community to join us for this special novena—a space to connect, give thanks, and welcome Christmas through art, dance, and tradition. It will be a meaningful moment to celebrate life, hope, and unity together.
