En Jardín, las matemáticas se experimentan, se viven y se disfrutan. Este año, hemos comenzado a integrar EMS (English, Math and Science) dentro de un nuevo currículo creativo que busca que los niños aprendan como mejor saben hacerlo: jugando y explorando el mundo que los rodea.
Desde el aula hasta los espacios al aire libre, las experiencias de Math han tomado una nueva forma. Ya no se trata solo de reconocer números y patrones en los libros, sino de descubrir las matemáticas en cada rincón del colegio, usando el cuerpo, los sentidos y la imaginación.
Nuestro objetivo ha sido crear centros de aprendizaje llenos de vida y movimiento. Los niños salen a buscar palos, rocas y hojas para practicar habilidades como la correspondencia numérica, trazan números en el aire o con pintura al aire libre, juegan a la rayuela mientras cuentan y fortalecen su tono muscular, y clasifican objetos con diferentes texturas, aprendiendo a observar, comparar y tomar decisiones.
A su vez, el trabajo desde centros fortalece el desarrollo de virtudes y comportamientos esperados en el aula. Estas actividades son la oportunidad perfecta para practicar habilidades como la cooperación, la comunicación y la resolución de problemas de la vida real.
Cada una de estas experiencias está diseñada para que las matemáticas sean una aventura significativa, en la que los niños construyen su pensamiento a través del juego. En Jardín, nuestros estudiantes nos muestran cada día que contar, medir o comparar puede ser tan natural y divertido como jugar.
Discovering math through play

In Kindergarten, math is experienced, lived, and enjoyed. This year, we have started to integrate EMS (English, Math, and Science) within a new creative curriculum that encourages children to learn in the way they do best: through play and exploration of the world around them.
From the classroom to outdoor spaces, Math experiences have taken on a new form. It’s no longer just about recognizing numbers and patterns in books, but about discovering mathematics in every corner of the school, using their bodies, senses, and imagination.
Our goal has been to create learning centers full of life and movement. Children go out to collect sticks, rocks, and leaves to practice skills such as numerical correspondence; they trace numbers in the air or with paint outdoors, play hopscotch while counting and strengthening their muscles, and classify objects with different textures, learning to observe, compare, and make decisions.
At the same time, working through centers strengthens the development of virtues and positive classroom behaviors. These activities provide the perfect opportunity to practice real-life skills such as cooperation, communication, and problem-solving.
Each of these experiences is designed to make math a meaningful adventure, where children can build their thinking through play. In Kindergarten, our students remind us every day that counting, measuring, or comparing can be as natural and joyful as playing.
