Reflexionando Sobre las Virtudes de Nuestro Colegio

Los estudiantes de segundo grado reflexionaron sobre las virtudes de nuestro colegio. Estos pequeños aprendices hicieron mucho más que hablar sobre valores: los conectaron con situaciones de la vida real y comenzaron a comprender cómo sus decisiones influyen en el mundo que los rodea. Verlos explicar qué significa ser sistémicos, cuidar de su salud integral —tanto del cuerpo como de la mente— y hacer lo correcto incluso cuando nadie los está observando, fue un recordatorio del poderoso impacto que tiene la educación en valores, incluso a tan temprana edad.
A través de discusiones guiadas y ejemplos significativos, los estudiantes compartieron momentos de su vida en los que han practicado la honestidad, la responsabilidad, la empatía y el autocuidado. Sus ideas fueron sinceras, profundas y sorprendentemente reflexivas. Fue inspirador escucharlos hablar de cómo pueden ayudar en casa, respetar a sus compañeros y tomar mejores decisiones en la vida cotidiana.
Para profundizar en su comprensión, los niños crearon un colorido cartel utilizando el acrónimo del colegio SHICKEL, ilustrando cuidadosamente lo que representa cada letra. Cada dibujo contaba una historia de amabilidad, integridad, salud, colaboración y esfuerzo. El detalle y dedicación de su trabajo reflejaron no solo creatividad, sino también una verdadera comprensión de los valores detrás de cada palabra.
Me siento inmensamente orgullosa de mis estudiantes de segundo grado, no solo por lo que han aprendido, sino por los individuos reflexivos, empáticos y íntegros en los que se están convirtiendo.
Reflecting on Our School Virtues

Third graders reflected on the virtues of our school. These young learners did far more than simply talk about values—they connected them to real-life scenarios and began to understand how their choices shape the world around them. Seeing them explain what it means to be systemic, to care for their integral health—both body and mind—and to do the right thing even when no one is watching reminded me of the powerful impact character education can have, even at such a young age.
Through guided discussions and thoughtful examples, students shared moments from their own lives where they could practice honesty, responsibility, empathy, and self-care. Their ideas were sincere, meaningful, and reflective beyond their years. It was inspiring to hear them say how they can help at home, respect their classmates, and make better decisions in everyday situations.
To deepen their understanding, the students created a colorful poster using the school acronym SHICKEL, carefully illustrating what each letter represents. Each drawing told a story of kindness, integrity, health, collaboration, and effort. The detail and care they put into their work showed not only creativity but a genuine grasp of the values behind each word.
I am incredibly proud of my second graders not just for what they have learned, but for the thoughtful, caring, and principled individuals they are becoming.
